An Original 1963 Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Ian Fleming's Dr. No, the classic 1962 (released in England in October 1962 and first released in the U.S. in May 1963) Terence Young English James Bond 007 secret agent spy espionage romantic fantasy action adventure thriller ("Now... Meet the most extraordinary gentleman spy in All fiction........ James Bond Agent 007...!"; "The first James Bond film adventure!"; "James Bond, his code 007"; "The double '0' means he has a license to kill when he chooses... Where he chooses... Whom he chooses!"; "He developed the technique of love to an art... the art of murder to a science"; "Now he is a flesh and blood experience on the screen!"; based on the novels by Ian Fleming) starring Sean Connery ("as James Bond"), Ursula Andress (as Honey Ryder), Joseph Wiseman (in the title role "as Dr. No"), Jack Lord, Bernard Lee (as M), John Kitzmiller, Eunice Gayson, Lois Maxwell (as Miss Moneypenny), Reggie Carter, Zena Marshall (as Miss Taro), Marthe Keller, and Anthony Dawson. Note that John Kitzmiller was a black African American who served in Italy in World War II, and he decided to stay there after the war, and he appeared in around 50 Italian movies! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of the most unusual one-sheets we have ever seen, and would likely qualify as the most rare (or among the most rare) "James Bond" one-sheets there is! However, we don't know exactly what it is! Here's what we DO know. It looks extremely like the "regular" Dr. No one-sheet from 1963. However, it only has the blue and the black plates, so the other colors are missing, which also includes the title and the long tagline at the top of the poster (both of which were printed in red on the regular one-sheet). So this COULD be a "test" poster that was printed in advance, with just the blue and black plates. However, it is machine folded, and test posters almost never are, and it has the NSS stamp on the back which reads "DR. NO 1 SH. 62/410", and test posters don't have that either! In addition to the stamp on the back, there is faint red ink transfer on the back of the poster, surely meaning it came in slight contact with another poster that had just been printed, but we have no idea what that poster was, because you can very faintly see some letters, but it is too faint to read (and the fact that it came in contact with a freshly printed poster makes it all the more likely this is some sort of test poster; see our image). However, we can also guess that this poster almost certainly made it to a theater (perhaps in with "regular" one-sheets), because someone hand wrote "DR. NO" in the top area, indicating they used it at a theater. So the above is EVERYTHING we know about this very odd poster! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THIS POSTER UNLESS YOU CAN ACCEPT ITS MANY UNCERTAINTIES. It is definitely printed on 1963 one-sheet paper stock, and we feel certain it is "authentic", but beyond that, we make no guarantees as to why it was created or how it was used. Condition: good to very good. The poster has the title handwritten in the top area (see above). It has the faint red ink transfer scattered over the back (see above). The top 2" was folded back at one time, and there are some pinholes around the edges, and some minor creases scattered throughout the poster. Learn More about condition grades
