An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #3 (LC; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Daddy Long Legs, the 1955 Jean Negulesco romantic dance musical ("From the novel by Jean Webster"; "Ballets by Roland Petit"; about a middle aged millionaire who meets an 18 year old girl in an orphanage, and he is in love with her, but restrains himself and sends her to college, but after several years, they fall in love) starring Fred Astaire, Leslie Caron, Terry Moore, Thelma Ritter, Fred Clark, Charlotte Austin, Larry Keating, Kathryn Givney, Kelly Brown, and Ray Anthony and His Orchestra. Note that this movie was based on a play and novel by Jean Webster from 1912. It was made into a silent movie in 1919 starring Mary Pickford, and was remade as a sound film in 1931 with Janet Gaynor, and then was significantly altered so that Shirley Temple could play the lead in "Curly Top" in 1935, and then was remade as this movie. Obviously, it is extremely unlikely that this plot will ever be used again, because in today's world, a story about a middle aged man falling in love with an 18 year old that he "adopts" is very inappropriate! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good. Other than a pinhole in each corner, the card is in nice condition! Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back of the card! Learn More about condition grades
