Date Sold 4/15/2012 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 29 reference test photos for Never So Few, the 1959 John Sturges World War II (WWII) Burma India military romantic melodrama ("Kiss by kiss the time ran out and never so few were the moments left for love!"; "Together for the first time! Bold, blazing drama!"; "Based on the Novel by Tom T. Chamales"; "Their eyes met across a night-club table and these two, the jungle fighter [Frank Sinatra] and the adventuress [Gina Lollobrigida] were instantly drawn to each other.") starring Frank Sinatra ("He was one of the forgotten few, fighting a forgotten war!"), Gina Lollobrigida ("she gave the kind of love that no man forgets!"), Peter Lawford, Steve McQueen, Richard Johnson, Paul Henreid, Brian Donlevy, and Dean Jones. Note that all of these reference set photos measure 8" x 10". Some of them have a visible clapboard in the image that gives the details about the movie and some do not (most of them have the clapboard). The studios would use these images for reference if they needed to shoot additional footage at a later time after the set was taken down. Almost all of the photos have "RETURN TO PROPERTY DEPT. METRO GOLDWYN MAYER" stamped on the back. NOTE THAT WE ONLY PHOTOGRAPHED 6 OF THE STILLS BUT THERE ARE 29 IN THIS LOT. Measurements: 8" x 10"Condition: very good. The photos are generally in nice condition! All have three punch holes in the top border, because they were apparently stored in some sort of binder.
