An Original Vintage Folded Special Movie Poster (measures 12 1/2" x 18 1/2" [32 x 47 cm]) (Learn More) The Dancing Girl, the 1915 Allan Dwan silent London England dancer romantic melodrama ("Daniel Frohman present Florence Reed in the famous, emotional drama The Dancing Girl By Henry Arthur Jones"; about a small town girl who goes to the big city, becomes a dancer, and meets a duke, but her father curses her for leaving, which apparently causes her to fall down a flight of stairs) starring Florence Reed (in the title role as Drusilla Ives; in her first movie role!), Fuller Mellish, Lorraine Huling, Malcolm Williams, and William Russell. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that in the days before studios made what would become pressbooks, they initially made special poster like these which were sent to theater owners to try to get them to book the movies. Since they only went to exhibitors, any posters like these are incredibly rare! Note also that movie paper from this film is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie (just one glass slide and that was in 2010) until we were consigned this poster! Note also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good.
