An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded International One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28" x 40 3/4" [71 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Die Unendliche Geschichte (released in the U.S. as "The Neverending Story"), the classic 1984 Wolfgang Petersen German/U.S. epic juvenile fantasy adventure ("A Boy Who Needs a Friend Finds a World That Needs a Hero."; "In a Land Beyond Imagination."; "Begin a journey into a limitless universe of entertainment. Experience the enchanted world of a young boy's imagination and behold the remarkable adventure that unfolds before your eyes."; based on the novel by Michael Ende) starring Noah Hathaway (as Atreyu), Barret Oliver (as Bastian), Tami Stronach (as the Childlike Empress), Patricia Hayes, Sydney Bromley, Gerald McRaney (as Bastian's father), and Moses Gunn (as Cairon). Note that this is surely one of the best children's movies of all time, and if you have never seen it (or have a child who has not), you should watch it together! However, please note that this movie is not the entire story of the book! It actually only covers the first half of the book (the second half picks up near where the movie ends, and Bastian saves the planet, but then becomes somewhat evil and battles with Atreyu, so it is not at all the feel-good story that the movie is). The author was so unhappy that he sued the producers, but lost. A sequel was made, but it didn't show the second half of the book, and instead had a completely different story line. So if you REALLY want to know what happens, read the book! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. It has a much superior image to that of the "regular" style, which comes to auction quite often. This is likely the best U.S. poster created for this classic movie! Note also that this one-sheet measures 28" x 40 3/4" [71 x 104 cm]. It is an "international" style one-sheet (meaning it was printed in the U.S. for use in non-U.S. countries). Note the lack of a ratings box and NSS information. Condition: good. The poster has creases and scuff marks scattered throughout with pairs of staple holes around the edges and in portions of the image. It has a sharp crease in the center of the left horizontal fold, a scratch at right, and several scratches and creases at lower left.
