An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Italian Photobusta Movie Poster (13x18 pbusta; measures 13 1/4" x 19 1/4" [34 x 49 cm]) (Learn More) Rafael Sabatini's Scaramouche, the 1952 George Sidney swashbuckling romantic adventure thriller ("MGM's Spectacular Technicolor Masterpiece!"; "The big word in entertainment is Scaramouche pronounce adventure!"; "The mighty novel of love, laughter, adventure, even mightier on the screen!"; "Only MGM... Producer of 'Quo Vadis' ...could do it!"; "The Company that made "Quo Vadis" brings the world another spectacular romantic triumph!"; "With laughter on his lips and a sword in his hand, he plunged into the most perilous exploits of a romantic era!"; "He flung a challenge into the face of fate when he kissed the lips of enchanting women who conspired against him!"; "Based on the novel by Rafael Sabatini") starring Stewart Granger, Eleanor Parker, Janet Leigh, Mel Ferrer, Henry Wilcoxon, Nina Foch, Lewis Stone (in one of his final roles; who played a different role in the earlier 1923 Scaramouche!), Richard Anderson, Robert Coote, and Henry Corden (uncredited in the title role as Scaramouche). Note that the title refers to an Italian character that was a clown who pretended to be a hero in stage plays, and the lead character in this movie sort of plays that role at one point. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster was folded down the middle and has fine surface paper loss scattered down that fold. It has several pinholes in the top corners and some tiny stains around the edges, with some creases and scuffs scattered in the image. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
