An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 10 1/2" x 15 1/2" [27 x 39 cm]; 12 pages) (Learn More) Sadie Love, the 1919 John S. Robertson silent romantic love triangle comedy farce ("'If my husband is going to bring his countess on our honeymoon, I'll take you, Jimmy dear!'"; "Scenario by Clara Beranger"; "By Avery Hopwood"; about three couples, two of whom are European royalty, and they end up matched to the wrong person, and to make matters worse, they have to go on honeymoons, but they end up with the right spouses on real honeymoons) starring Billie Burke (in the title role as Sadie Love; "By arrangement with F. Ziegfeld, Jr."), James Crane, Helen Montrose, Hedda Hopper (later the famous gossip columnist, in an acting role), and Jed Prouty. Note that it would be a full 20 years later that Billie Burke would wonderfully portray Glinda the Good Witch in "The Wizard of Oz"! Also note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of a remarkable group of 21 silent Paramount pressbooks that were in a bound volume. Each was carefully removed, so there is slight paper loss at the spine (and likely the other three borders were slightly trimmed to make them even, but only blank border areas were affected), and otherwise, most of the pressbooks are in really nice condition, although two have cuts, which are of course noted (and of course, the chances of finding these in any condition are very slim!). We are auctioning all 21 of these, in 21 separate auctions. Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: good to very good, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut. It was removed from a bound volume (see above). There are smudges in the white areas of the cover. There is a faint stain in the upper right blank border of all pages, with a tiny area of paper loss in that area on the cover (see our images).
