An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #3 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Some Like It Hot, the classic 1959 Billy Wilder (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) romantic musical cross-dressing drag crime comedy ("Hot!!!"; about two out of work musicians who happen to witness the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in Chicago, and they need to leave town in a hurry, but the only jobs they can get is with an all-girl band, and they dress in drag, and one of the band members is Marilyn Monroe!) starring Marilyn Monroe ("and her bosom companions"), Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), George Raft, Pat O'Brien, and Joe E. Brown (the great star of 1920s and 1930s slapstick comedy, who practically steals this movie with a wonderful comic performance and an unforgettable final line!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we were consigned the entire set for this classic movie, and we are auctioning them in eight separate auctions, so that up to eight different collectors can win a card to add to their collection! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good to very good. The card has a thin strip of brown paper tape on the back of two borders (see our images). That likely caused the card to be lightly rippled in the bottom half. There is an exchange stamp on the back of the card, and the front of this card must have come in contact with a card that had a similar stamp on its back, because there is ink transfer from that stamp in the lower right of the image, extending into Lemmon's leg. It also has light smudges around the edges and creases in the center of the top blank border. If I owned this card, I would surely have a talented restorer remove the tape and also address the smudges and stains (either during gel backing the card, or possibly without even backing the card at all). After this restoration, the card will look fantastic, and have very little paint restoration, if at all, but bear these defects in mind before bidding on this card. Learn More about condition grades
