Date Sold 9/15/2016 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage German (measure from 13 3/4" x 14" [35 x 36 cm] to 13" x 14 1/2" [33 x 37 cm]) News Photos (Learn More) The Nuremberg Rally was the annual rally of the Nazi Party in Germany, held from 1923 to 1938. These were large Nazi propaganda events, and many films were made to commemorate them (official films for the rallies began in 1927). The most well-known of those films is Leni Riefenstahl's Triumph of the Will. Important Added Info: Note that we know nothing of the origin of these news photos. The photos themselves measure 10 1/2" x 13" and were glued to heavy boards that measure from 13 3/4" x 14" [35 x 36 cm] to 13" x 14 1/2" [33 x 37 cm]. On each, the bottom 3 1/4" of blank area has a photo snipe glued in the center, one of which says "FUEHRER", and the other which says "NUERNBERG" (the German spelling of Nuremberg). We can't imagine that these were created very long after 1938, when the last Nuremberg Rally was held, and they almost certainly are from the 1930s. If anyone knows more about these, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good. The news photos were mounted to heavy boards, likely when they were created (see above). There are brown stains scattered in the bottom blank area, and some wear around the edges (see our images). Learn More about condition grades
