An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Russian Movie Poster (measures 27 3/4" x 41 3/4" [70 x 106 cm]) (Learn More) Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov (better known as Lenin) was a Russian communist revolutionary, politician and political theorist from the 1900s to the 1920s. He served as head of government of the Russian Republic from 1917 to 1918, of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic from 1918 to 1924 and of the Soviet Union from 1922 to 1924. Under his administration, Russia and then the wider Soviet Union became a one-party communist state governed by the Russian Communist Party. Ideologically a Marxist, he also developed political theories known as Leninism. He passed away in 1924 at the age of 53. Artist: N.B. Cosmin Important Added Info: Note that this is a really cool 1959 poster that reproduces a wonderful 1953 portrait of Lenin by "N.B. Cosmin". The poster measures close to one-sheet size, but it has all Russian writing at the bottom, and we have no idea how this poster was used or distributed. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: fair to good. The poster was never folded. It has many tears and areas of paper loss in the borders, but mostly only blank white paper is affected. There is a tear in the top and bottom center, and both of those go into the image. There is a 6" tear near the middle of the left border that has small surface paper loss in the end of it, in Lenin's sleeve. There are creases scattered throughout the poster. The poster is fragile around the edges, but it is mostly "all there", and after it is properly restored, it will look great, but bear this in mind before placing a bid on this poster.
