Waging a One-Man war on crime!"; "15 action episodes"; "Based on cartoon strip by Chester Gould"; "Original Story by Morgan Cox and George Morgan") starring Ralph Byrd (in the title role as Dick Tracy), Kay Hughes, Smiley Burnette, Lee Van Atta (as Junior), Francis X. Bushman (as Chief Clive Anderson), and John Picorri (as Moloch). Note that this was the very first Dick Tracy movie! It is surprising that it took six years for it to reach the screen, but once it did, it proved very popular and was followed by three more serials over the next four years, and then after a four year break, the first Dick Tracy feature film was released, which again proved extremely popular, and there were three sequels to that. There were animated cartoons on TV in the 1950s and in 1990, Warren Beatty made a live action movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tears and paper loss scattered in the vertical foldline and in the left half of the bottom two horizontal folds, with a lesser amount on the other foldlines. There was some writing on the back of the middle left of the poster that slightly bled through to the front in the nose and cheek of the man at middle left. There were pinholes, tears, and paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
