An Original Vintage Unfolded Japanese "B1" Poster (29x41; measures 28 1/2" x 40 1/2" [72 x 103 cm]) (Learn More) 1964 Summer Olympics (officially known as the Games of the XVIII Olympiad) was an international multi-sports event held in Tokyo, Japan, from October 10 to 24, 1964. The 1964 Summer Games were the first Olympics held in Asia, and the first time South Africa was barred from taking part due to its apartheid system in sports. This is also the first Olympics that the Democratic Republic of Congo participated in. Artist: Yusaku Kamekura & Osamu Hayasaki Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare Japanese "B1" poster that measures 28 1/2" x 40 1/2" [72 x 103 cm]! "B1" posters are FAR more rare than "B2" posters (which measure approximately 20" x 28 1/2"), and because they are larger (similar in size to a U.S. one-sheet), they are more impressive when displayed on a wall! Condition: good. There is light rippling and discoloration throughout the poster from exposure to moisture. It has pinholes around the edges and a large tear at upper right and most of the defects are repaired with tape from the back (and touched up with colored pencil at upper right).
