A Linenbacked Belgian Travel Poster (measures 25 1/2" x 39 1/4" [65 x 100 cm]) (Learn More)

Sabena: Belgium, Congo, South Africa, the 1950s Belgian airline aviation airplane travel poster ("Belgian World Airlines") encouraging people to use Sabena (the national airline of Belgium). Note that this poster features art of an African native dancing as a Douglas DC-7C flies overhead. Note that we have seen other versions of this poster, some with different text and a some show a DC-4 airplane.

Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this travel poster! It has been suggested that this poster could have been displayed and faded somewhat. We were unable to locate other examples of this exact poster to compare, but we did find a similar Sabena poster that has brighter reds, so it is possible that this poster has some fading, but we can't say for sure. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. It has been suggested that this poster could have been displayed and faded somewhat (please see the Important Added Info section for more information). The poster was never folded. It had a few faint creases scattered in the image and a crease in the top right corner. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
