AND The Covered Wagon, the classic 1923 James Cruze silent winning-the-West pioneer wagon train romantic adventure cowboy western ("A wonder picture that WILL thrill you"; "Adapted by Jack Cunningham"; "From the novel by Emerson Hough"; one of the most major westerns of the 1920s, it was made at a time when westerns were thought to be losing their popularity, but this movie single-handedly revived the genre; set in 1848, about two wagon trains that travel from Kansas City to California and Oregon via the Oregon Trail, and the great difficulties they encounter along the way) starring J. Warren Kerrigan, Lois Wilson, Alan Hale Sr., Ernest Torrence, Tully Marshall, and Tim McCoy (who is billed as an "Indian liaison"). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that from the 1920s on, studios would create elaborate studio yearbooks (also known as campaign books). They were made once each year, and they were often in full color, and often used the finest artists of the day to create many elaborate ads for their upcoming releases. The page offered here was removed from a studio yearbook, and can be framed and displayed (but almost all campaign book pages have different images on each side, so one must choose which side to display if it is framed!).
