Homicide Bureau, the 1938 Charles C. Coleman police detective blackmail murder racketeering crime thriller (about a homicide bureau that is having trouble solving crimes, and the local Citizens' League hires a hot shot woman laboratory worker who is up on the latest scientific techniques to head a "lab and internal affairs" division, and oversee the homicide bureau, and of course, she clashes with the old-fashioned members of the bureau) starring Bruce Cabot, Rita Hayworth, Marc Lawrence, Richard Fiske, Moroni Olsen, and Norman Willis. Note that Rita Hayworth is cast as a highly intelligent scientific executive researcher, and the movie apparently has very little romance. Just a few of years later, and throughout the 1940s, she would be the movies' #1 sex symbol, starring in movies such as "Gilda", and many others!
