An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style A One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Wagon Show, the 1928 Harry J. Brown silent circus cowboy romantic melodrama starring Ken Maynard, Tarzan ("His Wonder Horse"), Ena Gregory (billed as "Marian Douglas"), Maurice Costello, and Fred Malatesta. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this great one-sheet not only features a great image of Ken Maynard in mid-air on a bucking horse (note that Maynard's image extends over his own credit, a device that was not often used in movie posters of any era), but also shows a circus sideshow in the background with six large advertising posters for "freaks" (human oddities)! Condition: very good to fine. The poster had some tears in the top horizontal foldline and tiny paper loss in the "M" and "N" of "MAYNARD" along the top foldline. There was small paper loss and small tears between the top foldline and the middle fold. There was small paper loss at the top crossfold and around a nickel-sized area of paper loss at the middle crossfold. There were a few tears and creases on the other foldlines. There were some pinholes in the corners and some creases and smudges around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was very nicely backed. The above defects were extremely well corrected. You don't see any sign of the restoration when looking at the poster, and yet the poster does not in any way have a heavily restored look (in fact, it looks to have been barely restored at all). I would think every western collector would love to have this wonderful cowboy poster framed on their wall! Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
