An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) High Barbaree, the 1947 Jack Conway World War II (WWII) military airplane aviation pilot romantic fantasy melodrama ("He wanted to stay in the arms of his first true love - but another woman claimed him!"; "MGM presents a new dramatic role for Van!"; "By the authors of 'Mutiny on the Bounty'"; "Based on the novel by Charles Nordhoff and James Norman Hall"; about a Navy pilot whose plane crashes into the Pacific in World War II, and he keeps his wounded companion's spirits up by telling him about the great love of his life, and he creates stories of a mythical island, where he and she are together, which is shown in flashback; meanwhile, that very same girl is convincing his father to not give up hope and to organize a search party) starring Van Johnson, June Allyson, Thomas Mitchell, Marilyn Maxwell, Henry Hull, and Claude Jarman Jr. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and separation, creases, and tiny tears on parts of some foldlines. There was a 3" diagonal tear with tiny paper loss below it in the right of Allyson's hair (just above the foldline). There were pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
