An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Puppetoon (also known as "Madcap Models") was a series of animated stop-motion puppet shorts created by George Pal in England the 1930s and brought to the U.S. in the 1940s. They are memorable for using a series of different hand-carved wooden puppets or puppet parts for each frame in which the puppet moves or changes expression, rather than moving a single puppet. A typical Puppetoon required 9,000 individually carved and machined wooden figures or parts. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. The poster has a large snipe (for "Tubby the Tuba") taped at right (see our image). There is some slight discoloration near the top and bottom crossfolds and the top crossfold has some small separation and paper loss. There are some tiny pinholes around the edges. The poster can be displayed as is, or after some linenbacking (at which time the snipe could be removed if desired) it would look great! Learn More about condition grades
