An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Cry of the Werewolf, the 1944 Henry Levin New Orleans Louisiana female werewolf monster gypsy horror thriller ("Shiver... as strange voodoo rites are revealed!"; "When the bells toll at midnight... Werewolves prowl the Earth!") starring Nina Foch, Stephen Crane, Osa Massen, Blanche Yurka, and Barton MacLane. Note that a year earlier, Columbia Pictures made "The Return of the Vampire" (which also included Nina Foch), which had a full fledged werewolf in it, but in this movie, the "werewolf" is actually a woman who turns into a literal wolf, making it much more like Val Lewton's "Cat People"! The opening credits have a wolf eating them as they appear on the screen! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had creases, tears, and a few tiny areas of paper loss down the vertical foldline, and extra folds along all three horizontal foldlines, with creases along those folds. There were pinholes creases, tears, and tiny paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see some signs of the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
