An Original Vintage Theatrical Kraftbacked Folded French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 39" x 58 1/4" [99 x 148 cm]) (Learn More) Les Paysans Noirs (literally translates to "The Black Peasants"), the 1948 Georges Regnier French Africa Ivory Coast political struggle melodrama (based on the novel by Robert Delavignette; about a French administrator in the Ivory Coast who is killed, and a new young one is sent in his place, and he sees that the black population was governed by terror, and with the help of a local doctor and engineer, he is able to change that, and also avenge the death of the previous administrator) starring Louis Arbessier, Antoine Balpertre (billed as "Balpertre"), and Georges Hubert Artist: Olivier Gilles Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare French poster from shortly after World War II! Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this French movie! Also note that this poster has been kraftbacked, which means it was backed onto a brown paper soon after it was printed (this process is called "kraft-backing", and posters with it are called "kraft-backed"). One could have it professionally removed from the kraft paper and linenbacked, and it would look great! Finally, note that this item contains some nudity, so we have placed a white bar over those areas for those who are bothered by such images. Of course, the actual item does not have the white bars. Condition: good. The poster measures 39" x 58 1/4", and it was kraftbacked (see above). It does not appear to be trimmed, and the only other example of this poster we have auctioned measured virtually the same, and it too was kraftbacked. Learn More about condition grades
