An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Court Jester, the classic 1955 Melvin Frank & Norman Panama (who also teamed up to write and produce this movie; words and music by Sammy Cahn and Sylvia Fine, who was Danny Kaye's wife) medieval romantic love triangle musical adventure comedy ("The king-sized comedy of this or any year!") starring Danny Kaye (as Hubert Hawkins), Glynis Johns (as Maid Jean), Basil Rathbone (as Sir Ravenhurst), Angela Lansbury (as Princess Gwendolyn), Cecil Parker (as King Roderick), Mildred Natwick (as Griselda), Robert Middleton (as Sir Griswold), Michael Pate (as Sir Locksley), John Carradine (as Giacomo, King of Jesters and Jester of Kings), Edward Ashley (as Black Fox), Alan Napier (as Sir Brockhurst), and Hermines Midgets. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the bottom two crossfolds, with separation and tiny bits of paper loss in the bottom half of the vertical fold and in the bottom two horizontal folds. It had pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
