An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style A One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Happy Go Lucky, the 1943 Curtis Bernhardt Trinidad tropical island romantic musical comedy (about a gold-digger who goes to Trinidad to pose as a debutante and find a rich husband, and a rich guy exposes her, but tries to set her up with his arch rival; there is a wacky subplot involving a voodoo love potion!) starring Mary Martin, Dick Powell, Betty Hutton, Eddie Bracken, and Rudy Vallee. Note that Paramount was really pushing Mary Martin at this time, and she was given top billing over her much better established male co-stars (Powell, Bracken, and Vallee), and she is the only one pictured on the one-sheet poster. Of course, she would soon become disenchanted with Hollywood and spend most of her time on Broadway! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had small paper loss at the middle and bottom crossfolds, with tiny paper loss at the top crossfold. It had some small tears in the vertical fold between the top and bottom crossfolds, with minor wear on the other folds. It had some pinholes around the edges. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
