An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Chapter #1 (The Master Magician) One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Whispering Shadow, the 1933 Al Herman & Colbert Clark (billed as "Bert Clark") horror crime murder mystery serial ("12 episodes of mystery, intrigue, and romance."; "Mascot Serials 'Blazing the Trail'"; "A serial thriller in twelve chapters"; about a criminal who commits murders through the clever use of television and radio waves, and a man whose brother was killed by that criminal, known as The Whispering Shadow, arrives to investigate his brother's death and his suspicions fall on the man who owns a creepy wax museum!) starring Bela Lugosi (in the title role as The Whispering Shadow), Henry B. Walthall, Karl Dane, Roy D'Arcy, Viva Tattersall, and Robert Warwick. Note that most of the lobby cards that have survived from this serial have a chapter title in the bottom border. There are also a few cards that are blank in that area. We suspect those are from a "feature" version of this serial. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had small paper loss at the bottom two crossfolds with some small tears and tiny areas of paper loss on parts of several foldlines and some pinholes and tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
