The Tarnished Angels, the 1958 Douglas Sirk aviation airplane-daredevil-and-newspaper-journalist romantic love triangle melodrama ("The book they said could never be filmed!"; "The boldest author of our time!"; "The exciting stars of 'Written in the Wind'"; "Based on 'Pylon' by William Faulkner"; about a washed up World War I flying ace who works in a carnival, and the reporter who comes to do a news story on him, but ends up falling for the pilot's wife, who was once a prostitute) starring Rock Hudson ("as Burke"; "He had heard all the whispers. He knew just what La Verne was - but he also knew that he loved her!"), Robert Stack ("as Roger"; "He won La Verne on a throw of the dice. He gave her his name - and took everything else!"), Dorothy Malone ("as La Verne"; "When she was sixteen she found a dream - and followed it all the way to hell!"; Hudson, Stack, and Malone billed as "The exciting stars of 'Written On The Wind'"), Jack Carson, Robert Middleton, Robert J. Wilke, Chris Olson, and Troy Donahue (in his first credited role, after two uncredited bit parts)
