An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked English One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures approximately 27" x 40") (Learn More) The Conquest of Everest, the 1953 George Lowe English Nepal/Tibet Himalayas mountain climbing hiking sports documentary ("The Supreme Adventure of Our Time!"; "The 1953 Expedition with Hunt, Hillary and Tensing"; about the first successful ascent of Mt. Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tensing Norgay) narrated by Meredith Edwards. Note that the expedition was led by English Army Officer John Hunt, but he did not make the final ascent to the top of the mountain, and for that reason, his name is pretty much lost to history, although he got top billing over Hillary and "Tensing" (which is how they billed Tensing Norgay, the Nepalese Sherpa who led them to the top of the mountain) on the English posters, which were made right after the event occurred. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this English movie! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good to fine. The poster had creases, a few tiny tears, and some very tiny areas of paper loss on parts of some foldlines and some minor border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, and looks great! Learn More about condition grades
