Artist: Eduardo Munoz Bachs Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Cuban poster! All early Castro-era Cuban posters are incredibly rare, because it appears that after the revolution in 1959, such items were mostly all destroyed by the end of the 1960s. There are very few first release Cuban movie posters of any kind from the 1960s and earlier. We are currently auctioning 16 first release 1960s Cuban posters in 16 separate auctions. This is a rare opportunity to acquire one or several of these, and it may be years before a similar offering occurs! Also, note that silkscreen (also known as screen printing) is a printing technique whereby a mesh is used to transfer ink onto a poster. Only one color is printed at a time, so several screens must be used to produce a multicolored design, and it is a laborious technique because it is traditionally all done by hand. Because of the rich thickness of the layer of color on the paper and the resulting depth and brilliance achieved through silkscreen printing, this technique was preferred by many artists throughout many cultures and periods. Condition: good. The poster has many scuff marks scattered in various areas (see our image) and there are a few tears in the blank borders. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
