An Autographed Contract Agreement (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]) (Learn More) Virginia Mayo (born Virginia Clara Jones) was an actress from the 1940s to the 1990s. At 17, she was a member of the St. Louis Municipal Opera, and she was signed to a contract by Samuel Goldwyn, but she was far from an overnight success! David O. Selznick gave her a screen test, but did not think she had a future in films, and it was not until years later in the early 1940s that she finally got some good roles. But once she had success, she hung onto it for a long time, continuing to have good parts through the 1950s! Some of her mostly Warner Bros. movies include: The Best Years of Our Lives, White Heat, Wonder Man, Backfire, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and A Song Is Born. She passed away in 2005 at the age of 84. Important Added Info: Note that this contract agreement has been personally autographed (signed) by Virginia Mayo! Note that this is one of a wonderful group of nine similar contract agreements we were consigned, which we are auctioning in nine separate auctions. Our consignor purchased them decades ago from a reputable dealer, and given that they are contracts which MUST be signed by the actual person, we feel 100% certain they all have genuine autographs, although none have certificates of authenticity. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
