Elia Kazan creates the Excitement of the year!"; "From a Story by Edna and Edward Anhalt"; about a police captain and a health officer tracking down a killer who was exposed to the bubonic plague) starring Richard Widmark, Paul Douglas, Barbara Bel Geddes, Jack Palance (billed as "Walter [Jack] Palance"; in his film debut), Zero Mostel, Dan Riss, Alexis Minotis, Guy Thomajan, Tommy Cook, and Emile Meyer (he was hired after being spotted by Kazan doing road work!).
