A Vintage Autographed Softcover Book (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]; 208 pages) (Learn More) Tarzan of the Movies, the 1968 Gabe Essoe illustrated book featuring a pictorial history of Edgar Rice Burroughs' legendary hero in films as played by Buster Crabbe, Johnny Weissmuller, Gene Pollar and more. Note that Gabe Essoe is a legendary Tarzan collector and this book not only includes a huge number of black & white photos from all of the Tarzan movies, but also some other rare movie paper items from Mr. Essoe's collection! Important Added Info: Note that this book has been personally autographed (signed) by THREE people: Bruce Bennett (who signed it "Bruce [Herman Brix]"), Jock Mahoney, AND Gabe Essoe! Note that a fourth "Tarzan", Buster Crabbe, started to sign the title page, and he wrote "TO PHIL, SINCERELY, 'TARZAN'", but then he got talking to Phil Petras and forgot to write his name below it (see our image). Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. Note that this is one of many items that was consigned to us by legendary Tarzan collector Phil Petras. Mr. Petras was one of the greatest Tarzan fans ever, and he became good friends with several of the actors who played Tarzan, and over many decades, starting in the 1970s, he would meet with actors and actresses who had appeared in Tarzan movies, sometimes on the sets of films, and sometimes at fan gatherings. Prior to his recent passing, he consigned most of his collection to us, and we are currently auctioning many of his autographed items, sometimes from actors who played Tarzan or Jane, and sometimes from actors who appeared in one or more Tarzan movies (but the items we are auctioning may or may not be from their Tarzan films). Mr. Petras naturally did not have "certificates of authenticity", but we feel certain that the autograph on this item, and every other item we are currently auctioning from his collection, is surely authentic! As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: very good.
