She will forever be best remembered as the girl who James Cagney hit in the face with a grapefruit in "Public Enemy". Some of her other best roles were in Frankenstein, Lady Killer, Great Guy, and The Front Page. She passed away in 1992 at the age of 81. Important Added Info: Note that this letter has been personally autographed (signed) by Mae Clarke! It was written to author Scott Nollen, who had written her a nice letter asking about her early days in Hollywood. She hand wrote the entire letter and signed and dated it (see our image).
