An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Green Style One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Thirteen Ghosts, the 1960 William Castle haunted house horror thriller ("13 times the Thrills! 13 times the Screams! 13 times the Fun!"; "See the ghosts in ectoplasmic color"; "13 Ghosts in Illusion-O!", which required the use of a 'ghost viewer', which allowed squeamish viewers to block out the ghosts, and thus avoid a potential heart attack; "See the ghosts in ectoplasmic color"; "A ghost for every member of the family!"; "Free! Free! Free! Ghost Viewer"; "Ghost Viewer given to each patron during the chill-n-thrill engagement of 13 Ghosts at this theatre! You can't see the ghosts without a Ghost Viewer!"; "See! See! See!"; "in Illusion-O!"; "Yes, 13 times the entertainment when you use the new ghost-viewer FREE to everyone who sees the movie!"; "Written by Robb White") starring Charles Herbert, Jo Morrow, Martin Milner, Rosemary DeCamp, Donald Woods, Margaret Hamilton, and John Van Dreelen. Note that this movie (like many of William Castle's) had a gimmick where they provided you with a "ghost viewer". You could look through the red part to see the ghosts, or, if you were too scared, you could look through the blue part and then you would not be "terrified" by the ghosts! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. This poster was linenbacked, but it was either NOT linenbacked by a very talented restorer, OR it was linenbacked many years ago, and has received rough handling over the years, OR it had fairly significant defects that were not restorated at all. If it was restored, you can clearly see signs of the restoration even from a distance. This is a poster that would greatly benefit from additional professional restoration. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had tears and tiny areas of paper loss across most foldlines and had many pinholes, creases, and tears around the edges of the poster. There are stains down the left side of the poster and an area of paper loss in the upper right blank border. Some poor soul attempted to "linenback" the poster, but actually all they did is glue it on to a cheap linen backing. Since that time, the poster was very roughly handled, and there are many creases all around the edges of the linen, extending into the edges of the poster in some places. This poster is very poorly linenbacked! If I owned it, I would surely immediately have it re-backed. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its many significant defects!
