A 7 1/4" x 9" [18 x 23 cm] Radio Publicity Still (Learn More)

Amos 'n' Andy, the famous 1928 - 1955 comedy radio show (about two African American best friends and their families), starring Charles Correll (as "Andy") and Freeman F. Gosden (as "Amos"). Note that in 1930, there was a movie based on the radio show, with Correll and Gosden playing the lead roles in blackface. In 1943, a TV show version was added and it ran until 1955 (when both the TV and the radio show ended), and of course, being on TV, black actors played the parts.

Important Added Info: Note that this still is from the first showing of the 9/18/51 episode of "Amos 'n' Andy". We know that for certain because it has the date printed on the snipe on the back. It is very hard to find stills from 1950s or 1960s TV episodes that are absolutely from the first release, and are surely not from a 1960s or 1970s re-broadcast. Also note that this radio still measures 7 1/4" x 9" [18 x 23 cm].

Condition: very good to fine. The still is in very nice condition!
