An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 5 1/2" x 8" [14 x 20 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More)

The Wild Goose Chase, the 1915 Cecil B. DeMille silent France stage acting romantic love triangle comedy farce ("A picturization of the merry romance"; based on the play by William C. de Mille; a really clever story of a rich young heir of a family and a young female from a different rich family, and they don't know each other, but each finds out that their grown fathers have ordered them to marry a total stranger, so they both run away and join a traveling theater group, and they fall in love, thinking their families will be furious, but actually, they were intended to marry each other all along) starring Ina Claire (billed as "Broadway's daintiest star"), Tom Forman, Theodore Roberts, Lucien Littlefield, Helen Marlborough, and Raymond Hatton. Note that this is one of the earliest movies from Paramount Pictures. It was from before the studio was officially formed, when several independent producers distributed "released their films on the Paramount Program". When they saw that this gave them a competitive advantage, they soon joined together to form Paramount Pictures. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.
