An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Giggle Water, the 1932 Harry Sweet sailor sailing screwball comedy short ("Mr. Average Man comedy"; part seven of the "Mr. Average Man" comedy short series; about a family who finds a bottle of champagne and decide to build a boat so they can christen it!) starring Edgar Kennedy, Florence Lake, Dot Farley, William Eugene, and Eddie Boland. Note that long ago champagne was known as "giggle water", because the bubbles "tickled" your nose, but that is a phrase that is lost to history! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster is extremely rare. It is the only poster of any kind that we have ever auctioned from this movie. We auctioned this exact poster three times before (in 2018, 2019, and 2023) and now it has been reconsigned to us AGAIN for this auction, so it is STILL the ONLY piece of movie paper for the film that we have ever auctioned! Given that this was a comedy short, it is likely that next to no theaters ordered posters for it (and the studio likely only made a one sheet and a set of four lobby cards). Condition: fair to good. There is water staining scattered across the bottom of the poster. There are tears and tiny paper loss in the right half of the middle fold. This is the kind of poster that responds really well to restoration! It is likely that many or most of the stains can be removed chemically, and after proper restoration the poster will look fantastic, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
