An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

The Dude Bandit, the 1933 George Melford cowboy western ("Screen play by Jack Natteford") starring Hoot Gibson (in the title role as The Dude Bandit), Gloria Shea, Skeeter 'Bill' Robbins, Hooper Atchley, Neal Hart, Lafe McKee, Gordon DeMaine, Fred Burns, Fred Gilman, and Horace B. Carpenter. Note that Skeeter 'Bill' Robbins was the real life manager of Hoot Gibson's ranch, and he only appeared in 13 movies between 1923 and 1933, all of which starred his boss, Hoot Gibson! Sadly, Robbins was killed in a road accident in 1933, and he was just 46 years old.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a half-sheet and a lobby card (and no other movie paper) from this movie until we received this one-sheet!

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had paper loss at the top two crossfolds and small tears and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of other folds. It had pinholes around the edges, with paper loss in the top right blank corner. It had faint water staining in the middle of the "ON" of "GIBSON". Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. Someone nicely backed the poster, but with no restoration or repair whatsoever (see our image). Another restorer could perform additional restoration, either with or without re-backing the poster, or certainly, it could be displayed as it is.
