An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style A Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Call of the Canyon, the 1942 Joseph Santley singing cowboy western musical ("Public Cowboy No. 1!"; "Original Story by Maurice Rapf, Olive Cooper") starring Gene Autry, Smiley Burnette, Bob Nolan & The Sons of the Pioneers, Ruth Terry, Thurston Hall, Joe Strauch Jr., Cliff Nazarro, and Dorothea Kent. Note that in 1941, the producers had the fun idea of giving sidekick Smiley Burnette (who played "Frog") a youthful sidekick of his own, and they hired young Joe Strauch Jr., who played that part in six of these movies, and naturally, his character was nicknamed "Tadpole"!
