He is widely regarded as one of the most influential composers of the late 20th century. Glass founded the Philip Glass Ensemble, with which he still performs on keyboards. He has written fifteen operas, numerous chamber operas and musical theatre works, fourteen symphonies, twelve concertos, nine string quartets and various other chamber music, and several film scores. Three of his film scores have been nominated for Academy Awards. Important Added Info: Note that this CD has been personally autographed (signed) by music composer Philip Glass (the signature is on the cover of the CD booklet! Our consignor obtained this in person from Mr. Glass when he appeared to conduct La Belle et La Bete at UCLA in 1994. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we are certain the signature is authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
