Date Sold 9/28/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. A Vintage Paperback Book (measures 4 1/4" x 7" [11 x 18 cm]; 156 pages) (Learn More) One More For the Road, the 1960 John Burton Thompson alcoholism romantic sexploitation novel ("The strange love story of two alcoholics: John Wycliff who tries to drown in sexual excess - and Carol Westbrooke who seeks frenzy in the bottom of a bottle!"; "A man - a woman - a bottle!") Important Added Info: Note that this is one of a collection of 46 sexploitation paperback books from the 1950s and 1960s, which we were consigned, and are auctioning in 46 separate auctions. These are from the repressed 1950s and 1960s, from the days when "respectable" people had few outlets for non-traditional sexual desires, and these "sleaze" paperbacks covered those subjects in depth! They always had lurid covers, and they were often sold "under the counter" (where you had to ask for them). The sexual revolution of the late 1960s made these books pretty irrelevant, but they are a fascinating reminder of repressed sexual attitudes of the 1960s! Finally, note that we were consigned a collection of around 300 of these books, and we have previously auctioned around 250 of them, and these are the final 46 in this collection, so this is the final chance to purchase any of these! Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the page with the publishing information, and the back cover. Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
