Date Sold 1/8/2017Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie 8" x 11" [20 x 28 cm] Key Book Still (Learn More) Branded, the 1931 D. Ross Lederman cowboy western starring Buck Jones ("The screen's greatest outdoor star"), Ethel Kenyon, Wallace MacDonald, Philo McCullough, and Silver (Jones' horse). Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were. This was one of the few movies where Silver was billed on the posters! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still is unlike almost all key book stills we have ever seen (we had a handful like this over the years, including two from "Flesh and the Devil")! Not only does it have an image of nine great still images joined together, but it also has full credits and a complete plot summary printed on the back! It is glued to a linen-like backing and has an extra 1" on the left with two punch holes. Apparently this was something that was done beginning in 1924, and we had thought that it was a very brief experiment, but now we have seen another one from 1936, so we know it continued for at least ten years, but they are really incredibly rare and really cool! Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
