He is probably best known for creating the comic strip "Gordo", but he has also done work on other comic strips which include: Tom & Jerry, Krazy Kat, and Lonesome Stranger. The National Cartoonists Society awarded him the "Humor Comic Strip Award" for 1957 and 1965. Arriola passed away in 2008 at the age of 90. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Gus Arriola! Note that this item comes with a "certificate of authenticity" from The Historical Document Society. Also note that a "first day cover", also called "FDC", is an envelope or card bearing a stamp which is cancelled on the day the stamp is initially placed on sale by the Postal Service. This FDC was consigned to us by a longtime eMoviePoster.com customer who is also a longtime autograph collector, and all of his autographs were obtained through dealers who are members of the UACC (Universal Autograph Collectors Club), because the UACC makes great efforts to not sell any autographs that are not certainly authentic.
