A 1945 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical One-Sheet Movie Poster (Learn More) Sons of the Desert, the classic 1933 Lloyd French & William A. Seiter Hawaii screwball husbands-and-wives comedy (produced by Hal Roach; likely the very best Laurel & Hardy movie, this is the one where they sneak off to a Sons of the Desert convention and play ukuleles and sing "Honolulu Baby", but they lie to their wives and are reported dead in a ship sinking, and much more!) starring Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy (Laurel and Hardy), Charley Chase (primarily remembered as a great silent comedian who appeared in 276 movies, most of them comedy shorts, Chase also directed 140 comedy shorts), Mae Busch, and Dorothy Christy NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that in the past, we have not known what year this re-release is from. However, a long time collector told us he saw an ad in the exhibitor magazine Motion Picture Herald that said this movie was being re-released to theaters by Film Classics on New Year's Day 1945. Therefore, this is from a 1945 re-release, which is just 12 years after the initial release (and first release posters from this movie are incredibly rare). What IS linenbacking?
