3 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (measure 11" x 14") (Learn More)

Legionaires in Paris, the 1927 Arvid E. Gillstrom billed as ("A.E. Gillstrom") silent military comedy ("A Greater FBO Gold Bond"; "From the story by Louis Sarecky"; set in France; presented by Joseph P. Kennedy) starring Al Cooke, Kit Guard, ('supported by") Louise Lorraine, Virginia Sale, and John Aasen billed as "the world's tallest man"). Note that John Aasen was an American-born giant, of Norwegian descent, who appeared in ten movies between 1923 and 1936, often uncredited. He first appeared as "Colosso" in Harold Lloyd's "Why Worry?", and he appeared with the Our Gang kids as a circus giant in "Growing Pains". He died in 1938 at the age of 48. He was advertised as being 8' 9", but this is an extreme exaggeration, for it was common at the time to add at least one foot to the height of tall men in circuses, and in 2008, his skeleton was measured and he was discovered to have been 7' 2". If anyone knows more about John Aasen, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Important Added Info: Note that the border art for these lobby cards shows the Eiffel Tower!

Condition: fine. Other than some small areas of darkening and smudges in the blank borders, the cards are in wonderful condition considering they are 76 years old!
