A 1939 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Ride Him, Cowboy, the 1932 Fred Allen wild horse cowboy western (about a cowboy who finds a horse that was accused of killing a man, and is called "The Devil Horse", and he is able to get the horse a pardon, and he trains it and later finds out that it was innocent of the murder, which had actually been done by one of the town's leading citizens and blamed on the horse) starring John Wayne, Duke ("His Devil Horse"), Ruth Hall, Henry B. Walthall, Harry Gribbon, Otis Harlan, Frank Hagney, and Glenn Strange. Note that this was the very first appearance of "Duke", the horse. Not only would he become John Wayne's horse in his six Vitagraph westerns, but over time, his name would become John Wayne's nickname, which stayed with him the rest of his life! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card is undated, but we know it to be a re-release. It is likely from 1939, when Wayne achieved major stardom in Stagecoach, and someone at Warner Bros. made the wise decision to re-release the early movies he made with them in the early 1930s. Condition: good to very good. There are pinholes, smudges, and a few stains around the edges. There are were two pieces of tape on the back of the center of the left and right borders, but they were not put there for any restoration purpose. Learn More about condition grades
