An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Belgian Movie Poster (measures 14" x 19 1/2" [36 x 50 cm]) (Learn More) La Strada (released in the U.S. in 1956 as "La Strada [The Road]"), the 1954 Federico Fellini Italian romantic love triangle circus melodrama ("Filmed in Italy - Where it happened! In English!"; Academy Award Winner 'Best Foreign Picture'; about a brutish strongman in a traveling circus, who virtually buys a young woman to work as his assistant, and they have a complicated relationship, which is even more complicated by a handsome trapeze performer they run into) starring Anthony Quinn (billed as "Academy Award Winner Anthony Quinn"), Giulietta Masina, Richard Basehart, Aldo Silvani, Marcella Rovere, Livia Venturini, and Gustavo Giorgi. Note that Fellini had been a screenwriter since 1942 and a director since 1950, with great success, but it was THIS movie which gave him worldwide acclaim and started him on his road to being one of the world's greatest directors. Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster originally had a blank top that was partially neatly trimmed off (this is commonly done with Belgian posters, similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of U.S. window cards). The poster was folded once in each direction. It had paper loss in the top right corner extending into the background. It had pinholes in the other corners. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
