An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Window Card (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Traffic in Souls or While New York Sleeps, the 1913 George Loane Tucker silent New York City Swedish-immigrant-girls-sold-into-prostitution-by-gangster sex crime melodrama ("The Great White Slave Photo Drama"; "Six Reels of Thrilling Realities"; "A Powerful Photo-Drama of Today"; "6 Parts 700 Scenes 600 Players"; loosely based on a report by John D. Rockefeller's Rockefeller Commission and an investigation by New York District Attorney Charles S. Whitman) starring Jane Gail, Ethel Grandin, William H. Turner, Matt Moore, and William Welsh. Note that this is one of the first productions of Universal Studios, and it is interesting to note that one of the greatest of studios started off making an exploitation movie (which made lots of money, and helped Carl Laemmle to expand his studio and become one of the leading Hollywood studios). Also note that, at a cost of $25,000, it was reported to be the most expensive feature film made to that time! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned three examples of this window card, and only one in the last 15 years. One of those examples has now been reconsigned to us, so this is still only one of three examples we have ever auctioned! Condition: good. There is staining in the upper right and a 3" diagonal tear in the middle right and several tears in the bottom border. But overall, the card is in pretty decent condition, especially since it is 110 years old, and any talented restorer could easily paperback this window card and make it look wonderful!
