An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Admirable Crichton (released in the U.S. in 1958 as "Paradise Lagoon"), the 1957 Lewis Gilbert English shipwreck romantic melodrama ("Shipwrecked in paradise!"; "See what the girls saw in the butler!"; "The hilarious story of what the girls saw in the butler... and what the butler saw in the girls!"; "Based on the play 'The Admirable Crichton' by James M. Barrie"; about a group of upper class English men and women who are shipwrecked on a desert island along with their butler, and he proves to be the only worthwhile person there, but they learn to adapt and be happy in their new setting, until they are "rescued") starring Kenneth More (in the title role as Bill Crichton), Diane Cilento, Cecil Parker, Sally Ann Howes (billed as "Star of My Fair Lady"), Martita Hunt, and Peter Graves. Note that this play was written in 1903 by James M. Barrie (best remembered for creating Peter Pan), and was a great success. There was a film version in 1913, followed by a 1918 English version, and again in the U.S. the following year. It was also filmed in 1934 and this version was filmed in 1957.
