a lot of 18 1974 issues of The Sporting News. It was the premier magazine for fans of sports! It was first published in 1886 in St. Louis, Missouri, and mostly covered baseball. Over the years, it added the other major sports. It was a weekly publication all the way until 2008. When it hit the same problems that all magazines are facing, it went to bi-weekly publication until 2011, and then was a monthly publication until 2012, when it ceased publication and became a website called simply "Sporting News". Note that the issues of this magazine resemble a newspaper section, and are printed on the same kind of newsprint that newspapers were printed on.
