A King in New York"; Chaplin was appalled by the McCarthy Hearings, and this movie is a satire on that, with a deposed king of an unnamed country coming to New York for asylum, but he is falsely accused of being a Communist!) starring Charlie Chaplin (billed here as 'Charles Chaplin'; in the title role as King Shahdov), Maxine Audley, Jerry Desmonde, Oliver Johnston, Dawn Addams, Michael Chaplin (son of Charlie!), Maxine Audley, and Harry Green NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny creases and scuffs in the vertical foldline between the middle and bottom one, and in the left half of the bottom horizontal fold, and minor wear on the other foldlines. There were some pinholes and tiny tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
