An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) The Getaway, the classic 1972 Sam Peckinpah romantic crime action thriller ("Screenplay by Walter Hill"; "From the novel by Jim Thompson") starring Steve McQueen (as Doc McCoy), Ali MacGraw (as Carol McCoy), Ben Johnson (as Jack Beynon), Al Lettieri (as Rudy Butler), Sally Struthers ("as Fran"), Slim Pickens, Jack Dodson, Dub Taylor, and Bo Hopkins. Note that the source novel of this movie was pretty "unfilmable" as written (especially the ending!), but Walter Hill did an excellent job adapting it, and while it is not the same story, it is in many ways faithful to the original, and it is certainly one of the best movies of its kind ever made! Some pre-1970 insert posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 insert posters (note that most post-1970 inserts were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those inserts). Condition: good to very good. There is a large corrective credits snipe over the entire bottom credits area (Jerry Fielding originally did the music for the movie, but had a falling out with Peckinpah, and Quincy Jones was brought in to re-do the music; the poster was printed with the credit "Music by Jerry Fielding", and the corrective snipe changes that to "Music by Quincy Jones"). There is a diagonal crease in the lower right corner through the credits area and there are a few smaller creases and scuffs around the edges of the poster. There is a 2 1/2" tear in the middle of the left edge and there are a few smaller tears scattered around the edges of the poster (repaired with tape from the back). Learn More about condition grades
