An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Damned Don't Cry, the 1950 Vincent Sherman romantic crime film noir ("Warner Bros.' flaming stars of 'Flamingo Road' meet in another scarlet alley!"; "'Call me Cheap?' Nothing's Cheap When You Pay The Price She's Paying!"; "She's the Private Lady of a Public Enemy!"; "Warner Bros'. Flaming stars of 'Flamingo Road' meet in scarlet shadows again!"; "Warner Bros: wide-open story of the private Lady of a public Enemy!"; "Story by Gertrude Walker"; about a working class woman who climbs from man to man toward high society and organized crime) starring Joan Crawford ("She's the best girl of the worst guys in town"), David Brian, Steve Cochran, Kent Smith, and Hugh Sanders NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster originally had a studio-issued corrective credits snipe over the bottom left credits area. Apparently, third-billed Steve Cochran was very unhappy with his billing (he was originally billed in letters exactly as small as Kent Smith's), and he must have made a big stink at Warner Bros., and they printed up snipes with his name several times larger, and sent them to theaters to paste over the original printed credits! Perhaps the snipe was damaged, because the linenbacker did not replace it on the poster when it was linenbacked. Condition: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfold and a thin line of paper loss in the left half of the bottom foldline. There were some smudges and tiny tears around the edges of the poster and pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the restorer did not touch up the bottom foldline.
